Artist and photographer Philippa Stanton’s (@5ftinf) rendition of Instagram’s new look was made from a collection of eclectic — yet recognizable — odds and ends. “The ordinary tape measure, which I used for the outline, represents an everyday connection,” Philippa, who lives in Brighton, England, says. “A massive part of Instagram for me is connecting with people.” For that reason, she also incorporated a doll in the remix — a gift from someone Philippa met on the platform. “Not only is this doll small, like me,” she says, "but it represents an Instagram friendship that became a real friendship outside of the digital world, too.” Photo by @5ftinf
